Your Impressions
WebQuest | Strengths | Weaknesses |
Grow School Greens | Very simple, Easy to understand | Need more pictures, since it is for elementary age students pictures could help as a visual aid. |
Where is My Hero? | Good colors to pull you in to the page. | Needs better directions, and more creative, also more choices of hero’s would be good. |
Underground Railroad | Easy to understand, the activity is very educational. | The page is dull and doesn’t interest me to much; more creativity would pull the viewer in. |
Ice Cream | Best layout of all the sites as soon as you see it, it interests you. Having to analyze and find information is smart. | I thought this site did not have any weaknesses |
Ancient Egypt | Very educational lesson | A little too simple the activity is educational but needs some work. |

Double entry journal 9
After reading the quote “It is traditional that schools would teach students to move as fast and efficiently as possible towards a goal, but games are different. They encourage players to sit back, explore and not move on too quickly, think laterally not linearly, and to re-evaluate one’s goals on occasion.” It surprised me and interested me very much. I also agree with this quote a lot. It is very true that schools traditionally teach students to move fast and efficiently as possible towards a goal. Sometimes schools go to fast and students don’t get a chance to learn properly. Video games allow you to explore sit back and understand things. Maybe schools should be more like video games!

Gardens of time
While playing the game gardens of time I learned that it incorporates many of the things in the article “Ten Things Schools Can Learn from Video Games “. The game gardens of times incorporate interaction a lot. While playing the game you are interacting the whole time with others that play the game. It also incorporates production; you can build your own garden and make it your own place. In other words you can customize your own garden. Customization is also very much incorporated in the game, this game is based off of customizing your own garden and getting money and gold to do so. The Cycle of expertise is used by enabling you to level up and gain experience. The last thing I see that’s used in this game is exploring, exploring is used by being able to explore different neighbors gardens.

Class activity 1a
People | Objects | Activities |
Quadrant 1 | Watch Tower American flag | Flag moving coast guard looking out |
Quadrant 2 | Watch tower and the sky | Coast guard, sky |
Quadrant 3 | Men walking along the ferry , sky | Men walking along ferry |
Quadrant 4 | 7 men including president Obama | Men walking with president Obama |
Based on what you have observed list three things you might infer from the photograph. – I would infer that these men are on a mission to do something important they look very motivated.
What questions do the caption and article title raise in your mind? -The title makes me wonder what exactly he is seizing, After reading the article I can understand he is ready to seize the claims process.

After reading the article the keypad solution. I found a quote about text messaging. Alan Mole, the president of the American Literacy Council says "text messaging does serve as the purpose of raising consciousness" about the fact "that there are different ways of making people spell". This quote surprised me, i do not agree with it. I believe there’s only one correct way of spelling not different ways of spelling. Also the new way of spelling in text messaging is due to laziness and inability to spell correctly. Kids now days are changing the way they spell to send faster text messages, it’s not a different way of spelling.
